The Smith-Machine, originally created for safety purposes. Which I agree it is a good tool for a few workouts. Taking away from your stabilizer muscles and your balance. The Smith-Machine creates muscular imbalance and can lead to injury. In gyms with no free weight bar bells makes it hard for certain exercises and you end up having to use The Smith-Machine. Results tend to be held back because of the lack of muscle use. And like in the video here Bent Over Rows prove to be difficult because I'm fighting to keep the bar turned so that the hooks do not catch. I highly suggest free weight versions against The Smith-Machine. Although it is good to check your form and to perform drop sets. If you're upset over your lack of gains, switch to free weights if possible and you will notice a difference. And don't forget to stretch!
